Dear students,

we follow up on our previous communication of the afternoon of last Sunday, March 8, to present to you our further decisions taken following the further Decree of the President of the Council of Ministers (DPCM) which entered into force today.

As you already know, from today, in fact, in the whole Italian territory there are no more areas at greater risk than others and the restrictions foreseen until yesterday only for Lombardy and for some provinces of Northern and Central Italy have been extended to all Italy.

These new government decisions are direct, and immediate consequence, of the worrying evolution of the epidemiological situation from COVID-19, of the particularly widespread nature of the epidemic and the increase in cases on the national territory, obviously including Tuscany and the province of Pisa itself .

For these reasons, and having found that in some Colleges the density of occupation is not compatible with the effective management of any critical situations, we ask the students residing in the Colleges of the Scuola Normale to organize immediately the return to their homes, which according to the latest DPCM is still possible.

This will allow us to use the Colleges only and exclusively for the students who are not in a position to return immediately to their homes, guaranteeing greater safety conditions, which is also not easy.

It is reiterated, although not necessary, that the students who are not currently in Pisa cannot return to the Colleges and it is necessary that they remain in the current places of residence or home.

For the return to Pisa, however, we will have to wait for the developments of the overall situation and, of course, the specific regulatory provisions. However, to date, not before April 3, 2020.

The Director

Luigi Ambrosio
