PISA, 9 February 2023.  The academic community of the Scuola Normale Superiore sends out its profound condolences and full solidarity to the Turkish and Syrian populations affected by the earthquake of 6 February; our thoughts go out especially to  the families of the victims.

In particular, the Director and the governing authorities wish to express sympathy and support to the students of the PhD course and to the post-doc researchers of Turkish nationality present at the Scuola Normale, especially those at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences  in Florence.

Solidarity is also extended to the university community of the Istanbul Technical University, a university with which the Scuola Normale has a partnership within the international EELISA consortium.
